I had 5 saved games and used the screen resolution 1024 x 768.
Loading savegames, the [down] button was displayed, but clicking it, nothing happened.

I presume the desired solution is to show the DOWN entry only if >5 saves, not >=5?

Looking at the screen shot, there is enough place to add another 5 saves. Why is  the button displayed at all?

I think the main menu system is designed to hold max 8 lines of text at the same time. And while I don't know the original reasoning, I do know, from webpage accessibility guidelines, that studies show that anything more than 5-6 options quickly make menus very hard to read.

That said, we probably need a better UI for savegame load/save in general, but that is a low prio issue.

This is not really a bug as Stefan pointed out (the menu system is designed to hold 8 or maybe 9 lines max, and it is high school level code that could be fixed in 15 lines but we are too arrogant to do it).

There is an actual issue with [down] doing nothing though, which should be fixed.

Still reproducible but with 6 savegames using 1024 x 768.

Yep, I seem them all.

Hike, you'll want to take a look at this.

This should have been corrected by fluzz 
for 0.17 release.
Please re-open this ticket if I'm wrong.
