As a spinoff from another bug...

...why does friendly area effect damage hurt friends?

Since we removed friendly fire completely for other things, shouldnt this
also be the same simply out of consistency?

Otherwise I dont see why we should not be able to deliberately shoot at
any NPC of our own liking, like how it used to be. Why was friendly fire
removed actually? I sort of liked how one could run around and have the
bots kill off each other with ranged damage.

This is standard practice in isometric role playing games, that bullets of your side cannot hit people of your side. It is the easiest way of making sure two friends of yours don't kill each other.

As for the fact that area effect hits your allies... it's a bit inconsistent with bullets, but I do not think it affects gameplay in a negative fashion.

Request input from others.

This 'bug' is actually fairly useful when you are trying to test out what
certain 'allies' drop, and if the hostility of groups is working right.
