I think we should add commonly used resolutions that are not supported (not 4:3) to the in-game menu, rather than requiring people to either edit the configuration file or use the command line.

I don't really get why you make tracker item for already existing patches.
A patch is supposed to fix tickets.
A ticket it not supposed to emphasize the urge of a patch to get upstream fast, IMHO.

Improving support for strange resolutions is what I see as one of the priorities for 0.15 (http://www.freedroid.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ToDo/ToDo which nobody actually commented, but I realize I may not have encouraged discussion clearly enough), given that nowadays most of our players will be using widescreen resolutions.

Adding resolutions to the menu is clearly only a first step, but it is a step.

As for opening both a ticket and a patch on RB... I do not know. I don't think it matters much either way.

@matthiaskrgr this is for adding it  to the game menu (Options->Graphics->Change Screen Resolution), not via the command line options (i.e. http://rb.freedroid.org/r/638/ ). I don't know of any patch in the works for adding this to the game menu.

Currently the in-game menu lists only the "supported" 4:3 resolutions, while the command-line has for a long time listed the "unsupported" resolutions. I created this so we would not forget to add it in the in-game menu (which I think involves modifying src/menu.c ).

@ahuillet I didn't see that until now. I don't know how much I can help with those goals, but they are things that I think are good considering the number of widescreen monitors out there (both of my computers are now that way).

As an aside, my personal big ticket item for 0.15 is getting bomber bots working and balanced.
