This feature would be used for showing interactions between NPCs apart from dialog, and to give an optional method for giving Tux quests or game hints. We already have a notification system in-game that would allow us to tell the player when new email arrives. The email system could use our current c-net dialog system, as well.

I believe this would be a very useful feature, as it would allow us to show relationships between characters in new ways (through accessing their accounts and reading their emails to each other), as well as give some more backstory to individual characters. This would also be a useful tool for summoning the player to do optional quests (for example, if Francis or Kevin had a new idea for Tux, this would allow us to notify the player without using an NPC for the purpose.)

A Email system? sounds cool. Us could put on c-net check_mail.sh to check the
mail and, according to variables, show or hide nodes. Tux should be warned to
read his mail with some frequency to don't miss updates. There could be, by
example, mails from C4nadian Ph4rmacy and from legit sellers.

At all, pretty cool idea.
