Sometimes the Old Town Gate Guard guarding the teleporter room appears to move side- or backwards.
I can't trigger that, so just move tux somewhere near, stalk the guy and you may notice it. :)

Animation issue or just the game engine improperly rotating a model it "walks"?

The model rotation is delayed for some reason.

When a bot is walking at an angle that is right at the limit between two positions, the graphics will flicker a lot between the two positions. To avoid that we introduced a mechanism that delays the change of graphics. Perhaps slightly too much.
