Oh my, you are right.

Windows 10 Pro (Bleh!). Multiple resolutions, default resolution and 1980x1020. 
Both windowed and fullscreen mode.

I had a few savefiles, now overwritten, that would reproduce it right away.

This smells of a memory safety bug.
