On IRC, TomFyuri came up with the idea to have two AIs (bots) hacking each other
and the player only spectating the process.
This way the player would get a better idea, how the hacking game works.

It should be done in slow-mo, though. If the player were to watch this happen
at the current speed of the game, there wouldn't be enough time given to really
understand what's going on. Thus, the event should be at half speed. (Double
the time limit, make AI decisions take twice as long, or something to that
effect I suppose?)

Also, it probably goes without saying, but this should probably be done with
each side having 3 charges -- certainly no more.

After the player watches this event, he/she then is given the chance to hack a
few, themselves. Perhaps this should be done in an area similar to the "ranged
weapons training" where bots are behind a cage, unable to harm Tux. I think the
best method for this would be to throw 4 or 5 of the 123 bots on one side of
the cage together, that way when Tux hacks a bot, the player can also clearly
see the advantages of hacking bots (they fight other bots) as opposed to it
being lengthily explained in a dialog.

As they say, "a picture says a thousand words," and as hard as hacking can be
to understand at first, we could use as many "pictures" --well, player
interaction-- as we can get.

If this is a tutorial, what we want to do is to make some strategies apparent.
To me this means we want the following:

1) To know exactly the layout of the board, so we have *better* and *worse*
places for the player to go.
2) Text which explains why we want to go one place rather than another.

Now the hard, and probably more "correct", way to do this would be to modify the
hacking game so we can set up the board how we want and message the player when
we want. If we did this, we could use it again to taunt the player when the
player tries to hack something really hard in the game.

The easy way to do this, would be to do this would be to take a couple of screen
shots, annotate them, and display them as a slide show. Since there was talk
about using a slide show to expand part of the story, we might want to add this
functionality anyways.

Postponing because after getting the
ability to extend take over time it should
be suffice.
Also, there is a lot of keypressing
involved, watching two bots would not be
really useful.

Please set again to open when and if
someone starts to work at this.

As side note, I confess people struggle at
start, I struggled too, but the extra time
should help. A lot.
